Finishes for exterior stone

A polished face shows colour and figure. On an exterior walking surface it can be slippery when wet, so paving and steps are more often flamed, bush-hammered, sandblasted or lychee. Walls and monument faces can stay polished because they are not the walking surface. The project specification should name the finish on each element rather than one finish for the whole job. Lonfar cuts the agreed finish. It does not replace the slip test required by the project.
